FINANCIAL DIRECTOR
As Financial Director, you will be responsible for steering the financial health and growth of Marabu. This role encompasses broad responsibilities ranging from strategic planning and risk management to budgeting and financial reporting. You will ensure that all financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation, working in collaboration with other executives to ensure the airline’s financial strategies support its operational, short-term, and long-term goals.

Your main responsibilities include:
Strategic Planning
- Developing and implementing financial strategies that align with the company’s objectives.
- Analyzing market trends to discover business opportunities and areas of improvement.
Financial Oversight
- Overseeing the company’s financial operations and managing corresponding teams.
- Ensuring that the airline is meeting its statutory and compliance obligations.
- Managing financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
Liquidity Management
- Overseeing cash flow, cash concentration, and liquidity management to ensure operational needs are met.
- Developing strategies for optimizing financial resources, managing external financing, and minimizing financial costs.
- Managing relationships with banks, financial service providers, and other related entities.
- Evaluating and managing the airline’s investments, ensuring optimal returns while maintaining liquidity.
- Implementing and monitoring strategies for foreign exchange and interest rate risk management.
Risk Management
- Evaluating and managing financial risks in the airline’s operations.
- Implementing risk management tools and practices to minimize risks.
Reporting and Analysis
- Preparing timely and detailed financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annually) for the executive management team and board of directors.
- Analyzing financial data to identify efficiency gaps and recommend cost-saving measures.
Stakeholder Relations
- Engaging and communicating with shareholders and other stakeholders.
- Maintaining relationships with partners and vendors to ensure favorable financial terms.
Leadership and Team Management
- Mentoring and guiding the finance department, promoting professional growth and operational efficiency.
- Collaborating with senior executives to make decisions that align with company strategy and policy.
Investment and Capital Management
- Making informed decisions on investment strategies, capital financing, and expenditure projects.
Regulatory and Compliance Oversight
- Ensuring that all of the company’s financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation.
- Staying updated on financial regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
We are looking for:
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional certifications like CPA, CFA, or ACCA are advantageous.
- A minimum of 8 years of financial experience, with at least 5 years in a senior financial managerial position, preferably in the aviation industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and strategic planning skills.
- Strong leadership qualities and team management skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
- Results-driven with an attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Resilient with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
